The vision of the Lummi Cultural Arts Association is to preserve and
promote original Lummi art. Its members are highly skilled in a wide
range of artistic endeavors including carving in wood, bone and ivory;
beadwork; embroidery; cedar baskets and hats; and, graphic arts and
mixed media. The LCAA promotes the work of these artists to grow their
skills, improve their quality of life, and preserve and protect the
cultural knowledge demonstrated in these art forms. The wellness of the
arts and the artists is an important ingredient in the on-going effort
to strengthen family ties and to promote greater understanding in the
broader non-Indian community.
